01

Real-time interpretation that keeps the programme moving

In simultaneous interpreting, speech is delivered in the target language with only a few seconds of delay. It is well suited to conferences, multilingual audiences and events where the programme needs to continue without frequent pauses.

Successful delivery depends on more than the language pair. The subject, number of speakers, daily schedule, audience profile and technical system are considered together. TG Interpreting selects an appropriate team from its trusted network and coordinates preparation through one point of contact.

Frequently asked questions about simultaneous interpreting

What is the difference between simultaneous and consecutive interpreting?

Simultaneous interpreting is delivered while the speaker continues. In consecutive interpreting, the speaker pauses after short sections. Simultaneous interpreting is usually better for larger audiences and time-sensitive programmes.

How many simultaneous interpreters are required?

Depending on duration and intensity, two interpreters normally alternate for each language direction. Short sessions and special formats are assessed individually.

Can technical equipment be arranged?

Requirements for booths, receivers, microphones and technical operators can be identified as part of the event scope. Existing venue systems should be checked in advance.

What preparation materials should I provide?

Programmes, speaker profiles, presentations, previous recordings, glossaries and participant documents all help interpreters prepare accurately.
